I recently just got fired from my first trucking company after driving for them for 7 months. I did an illegal u-turn and someone reported it. Now I'm in search of a new job but should I wait to apply for my DAC report to get back before I start filling out applications again?... Will that incident even show up on it?... (no cops were called/involved, no one injured, no accidents occured). Is that so bad of a blemish that I should probably consider a whole new line of work?...

F no, that's nothing. You violated company policy. ( Schneiser )?

You could see if it's on your DAC, but everyone is STARVING for drivers. You have 7 months, clean record, no CSA points, you will find work no problem.

There a rats everywhere, most mega's a U Turn is auto term, because they have so many drivers that can't even perform a standard turn without crashing into something.

You're overthinking it. Start putting in apps and you'll have a job in a couple of days.
Fess up; you violated company policy. No tickets involved.
Which state do you live in and nearest city?

Apply elsewhere BEFORE it shows up on DAC. Have a clear simple explanation and you will get hired.

It'll probably show up on your DAC or you got terminated and the recruiter may ask you about it but its not that big of a blemish compared to other marks and drivers get hired.

For a U-turn??? I do them when I miss a turn or something.. If the traffic is clear and there is room... I've never heard of such a thing. I would not work for a company that petty.. Now if you ran over a 4 wheeler in the process maybe you would deserve the termination but if it was done safely as possible.. And EVERYTHING we do is done "best possible"... Then I don't see the problem... Sure you are employable, apply to my company. Woody Bogler Rosebud MO. Ask for Ben.

Seriously? It’s pretty much SOP at the majority of the Mega’s. Get caught doing a U Turn and it’s immediate termination.

I don’t agree with it, but it’s pretty standard
