I have this gentleman that wants to purchase a truck but wants my company to handle all elements of it. Find a driver, use our authorities, pay insurance etc. and hand him a report at the end of the month with monies made. What’s y’all take on this? He’s literally going to buy the truck but we will handle everything else.
    Thanks Guys

    Why?

Why involve a middle man? What is his "ownership" of a truck provide for your company?

Sounds like another 'get rich quick scheme with a truck owner that is clueless.' We get those guys here a lot.

Is he going to pay you a percentage for doing all this?

If not, I don't see anything to your benefit.

if you want to deal with another truck just buy another truck. don't see any benefit only headache if you do this. i can see value in hiring a owner operator who provides a truck driver there own fuel repairs ect to you and you make a set percentage off the truck but if you are supplying and covering everything other than the truck itself i don't see the benefit.

who's percentage covers repairs and maintenance. might be ok if you only temporarily need a extra truck you would essentially just rent the truck from him but beyond that i don't think i would be interested.

His trailer or yours? His? 25% off the top. Yours? 35% off the top.

Essentially this gentleman wants to see a return on this truck, like residual income. All earnings made by his truck would cover all operating costs and what ever comes after would be his return. Plus the percentage that he will giving us. Just wondering if anyone has done this.

TripleSix has the percentages right. I admit I haven't done this but buddyd157 is also correct. You need to approve and be able to disqualify any driver you find unacceptable for any reason. It's YOUR authority and YOUR CSA.

mabye i misread. but i thought the op had to supply the driver for the truck. and take care of everything regarding the truck and the owner wanted to be completely hands off just hand them a truck and expect a check every month.

my big isses with that is who covers the repairs. what about repairs caused by the driver. if the op is supplying the driver for the leased truck what happens when said driver backs over a curb rips a fairing off and twists a drive line. how is that owner going to react when you say your deducting a drive line and fairing from his check because drivers make mistakes.

if the op is covering repairs what about when the engine needs a in frame that costs more than the value of the truck do you in frame it and then the owner decides he wants to take his truck somewhere else a month later.

    Ruthless Thanks this.
