I wouldn't want you to change a thing. There is more to life than money. If a Brady bunch family is what makes you happy then I will tell you to go for it. As long as you're not using other peoples hard earned money to raise your kids then all is good in the world.
I'm stating facts. Kids cost money. Use that knowledge for your life planning.

If you're adding bacon then we'd best make it a patty melt with some caramelized onions as well. Toss in a side of fresh potatoes chips and fired cheese curds . . . Wait, what were we talking about?

Everything costs money. Kids, food, housing, clothing, entertainment, foolish behavior, everything.

You make the assumption that money not spent on kids would automatically make the financial position better. The fact is that people simply spend the money they make, and if they don't spend it on kids, they spend it on someone else.

In my situation, the kids had no effect whatsoever on my financial situation. I saved a fixed percentage of my income, and invested in the business. The rest of the money I spent. If I had not spent it on the kids, the ex-wife would have spent it on car payments, Starbucks coffee or clothes.

I have friends with 6 and 8 kids. They scrimp, they make do, they don't take family vacations. But they still save for retirement, and they still have the life THEY want to have.

My life is different with kids, and I spent my money differently. My budget looked different, but in the end, my financial position is the same, plus I have the joy of kids in my life.

I played some game on the PC that had a small chance of dropping bitcoins for killing high level monsters (or something like that). This was back when they were worth a buck maybe. I know I got a couple but I can't remember the name of the game or find anything online that looks familiar. I probably have a fortune sitting in an online vault somewhere.
