Morphine sulfate is the gold standard by which all other medicines are compared. By itself vs Oxy, Oxy is about 10 times strength in terms of morphine equivilant. Oxy unfortunately is semi synthetic and close to the heroin family. I could be wrong. I have been on that stuff for almost 10 years and decided enough is enough. Hydromorphine or Hydrocodone is the more basic pain medicine. Not as strong as morphine sulfate, but give that to a person who does not have a history of taking medicine (No tolerance) and they are gone in a hour, drool and all.
Morphine in liquid form (Any time you are given a liquid version of any drug...) is what gets most people addicted if given long enough via IV. They hear that "Bell" in the ear while on it and crave the high that comes with it for them. It does not impact me too much because again as a patient Im considered opoid tolerant and will require bigger doses for the same effect and there lies the problem. A human can only take a certain specific amount of a drug before it becomes lethal over a set time versus your body weight. There is actually a formula calculation at which you can discover a lethal dose of most anything.
Anyhow.
I may give morphine a try again, but hydrocodone will be where I will be at, less of a problem. I can take a thousand of those and it wont matter just the same as one pill. (You would think a thousand would really kick my butt, but not so.. it will however kill me lolz or a horse)
I grew to hate the oxy for a variety of reasons, withdrawals is one of them. The other is the superman effect that you are 15 again and bench 300 pounds all day on that stuff. so to speak. I don't need that.
One day this will get settled one way or the other fairly soon. I have a new doctor coming in after the records on my case is examined first. One of the things about going to a doctor for that purpose is there is a battery of challenge and questioning that borders on interrogation you have to endure as well as drug tests and vitals. There is a system of questioning used against patients to extract information particularly related to abuse or other problems. I don't particularly like that even though it's not a problem. But it is what is required by law, to grill the people and weed out the bad ones.
Fentenyal is the king of all pain medicine. I had been issued that twice. The first time was a patch which is good for 3 days. 10 patches, roughly about 1200 dollars value retail more or less. Insurance really helped on that one. Last winter they gave it to me on the spot when I told them I was tired of the pills. (And I was... and still am...) the body threw a reaction on day two which covered it in hives and then killed the breathing system in a special form of shock that will kill you in a few minutes if not treated instantly. They were putting in various fluids into my system to combat the fentanyal when my breathing went off line. That was fun. Down I went, and they went to work. It's that simple.
It's also not my time yet. It puts out the pain alright, but it also sometimes put the people OUT permanently.
Seriously looking into driving but have a few questions, mostly medical
