Maintenance schedules haven't changed to much over the years. You still gotta change the oil and if you're one of those fools that believes that the $50 bottle of syn oil that states change every 15k well then you get what you have coming. Trans services(non maintenance free) still the same as the last 30 years, diff the same. About the only one you can get away with is the ignition system, cooling systems and hydraulics, they are for the most part maintenance free or very high mileage. Belt, hoses all wear. The truth is, a vehicle is the most abuse appliance everyone will ever own, even they don't abuse it the road, heat, cold, ozone surely does. Please don't do your maintenance and see where you end up on a new car. Sporting the bill as it won't be covered under ANY warranty or repair contract. You have to show maintenance records or the bill is on you.

Well of course you didn't think I worked for the companies that long without knowing that. and sometime you gotta do what you gotta do to get the job done. You've got a tech with some knowledge.

You better not go that far, you been driving a truck that would not pass a pre trip inspection, YOU will get a ticket and the points against you, You are a professional which means you do not play any safety games and try to slide things because the "Boss" is to cheap to fix problems. Them inspectors will love to get that truck off the road and you along with it because you did not do a proper pre trip.

One other thing, if it is a light ,marker or any of the easy things, you had better know how to fix them, that is a skill that is leaving much of this country. just plug a computer in, it says that is bad...way back we knew what was what and how to do repairs in our down time. except now you have to probably log all that time fixing stuff. Big things like a exhaust leak, brakes not legal and cracked frames should be a red tag on the unit and not moved until it is fixed.

Thread is few months old but the answer to ur question is simple SAY NO and tell your boss to send road breakdown to fix it.If you allow boss to intimidate you into doing something you knowisnt right then you're as guilty as he is and if something happens while driving you will be paying the price not boss.

First thing you should do is grow a sack. Second thing to do is refuse to drive unsafe equipment. If none of those options can be done drive the #### truck!

If those options can't be done they better step aside and leave the driving to the big boys.
