So this puts swift and fedex in the same boat. That scares me.

Week ago I saw one of them parked near fallen electrical pole. the traffic was jammed on the street . the good part was the driver not being hurt by high voltage..... near Bakersfield, CA

J.B.Hunt upped theirs also. But only 65 on cruise. Set to 67 on 2 million mile drivers.

65 mph isn’t so great honestly coz everyone else is set at...yup u guessed it! 65 mph....it’s frustrating trying to pass a 65.1 mph truck with your 65.2 mph truck lol ...I know coz my truck was 65 mph the last few years, you will think it’s great until reality sets in...but ok,congrats swiftys!

    Forget it.

Wake me up when they crank em up to 85.

If you are gonna go fast, and keep your appointments in a timely manner, crank em up.

Use your own GPS applications to double check that speed against the indicated speedometer number of 65, make sure it's actually 65. Some companies like FFE cheated by showing 65 when you were actually set at 63. (One day we checked against wisconsion yard sticks on the interstate and came up short. Bought a GPS and discovered this truth. Talked to shop to recaliberate tractor to 65 and discovered safety suits had a secret they asked us not to reveal...)

These computerized trucks should automatically adjust the speed limiter depending on the available speed limits..:biggrin_25525:

Leap to the conspiracy theory first ... think about how a speedometer works. Then think about truck tires.

Truck tires are engineered for 85. No conspiracy here. Actual fact from my rig with FFE. I might still have the screenshots from the GPS somewhere deep in my backup array.

The speedometer takes it's data from the ECM which takes its data from the revelant sensor electronically. Because of a programming parameter it's allowed a 65 to display when the actual speed was 63. We were tripplanning on 65 and running a few minutes late consistantly against the yardsticks and stopwatch, bought a GPS and laptop and there is the secret. 63.

If you think that Im silly and conspiracy, select my name. Select ignore in the pop up box. Ease your mind from all that wild stuff, you have more than enough to worry about as it is. He he.

Ok ... now think about how that data is generated.

The newer trucks have pass smart and will allow truck to do 67 to get by them other 65mph trucks a bit better. 63mph foot 65mph cruise, 67mph Pass smart. They didn’t adjust the overspeed Settings though which is dumb still 68/71 and they need to ecoast rolling 69mph often. I’m just ignoring it.
