I wonder if the Tire has any input in this equation.... I know this might seem like witchcraft. I wonder if drive tires that has say 22/32nd Compare to a tire that has say 5/32nd Cause to lose say 2 miles per hour. But the speedometer might read 65mph. O never mind that's probly a conspiracy theoryLast edited: Dec 5, 2017
Tb0n3, spyder7723 and A21CAV Thank this. -
I drove OTR for a different company and my GPS always showed 1 mph less than the speedometer did. I now drive local for a completely different company from my OTR company. It is a day cab and different brand than my OTR truck. Same thing. I downloaded a speedometer app onto my smart phone. It & my GPS always read 1 mph less than the speedometer. And my GPS & the phone app always matched each other.
Lets take this 1 step further. I have compared my speedometer to road side speed readouts like you sometimes see in construction zones or other situations. Same result, roadside radar reads 1 mph lower than on my dashboard. This conspiracy is bigger than we thought.....A21CAV Thanks this. -
Well I don't like to talk about it but it is a conspiracy. The government can time travel. But you have to go 88 miles per hour so to slow people down you have to make them think they're going faster......omg I've said to much black helicoptersTb0n3 and JOHNQPUBLIC Thank this. -
So I just got to the Lewiston, ID terminal to get a trailer problem fixed.
While I was there I had them set me up for our new speed.
Both my RM GPS and speedometer indicate 65 when I am set at 65 on the cruise.
At least Swift is not cheating. -
I've seen up to a 3 mph swing from new rubber to to rubber that is just pass legal, between my GPS and the truck speedo.
Currently brand new truck, brand new rubber my GPS and analog speedo match. The digital speedo is actually 1 mph slower than the GPS. -
It is smaller.
More rotations per minute mean higher speed as far as the computer or sensors are concerned.
It's the same in a car if you go to a larger tire.
It is geared for a certain thing, but if you put a bigger tire on your speedo will show you are going a slower speed.
If you put on a smaller tire it will show that you are going faster.
The GPS does not rely on gears and tire ratio.
Although, if you are in hills and turns, the GPS can get a bit wonky with speeds. -
Just another way for them to kiss ### to the ATA and make everybody else follow soon. You know to level the playing field.

You'll see the same failure to understand, when people claim they get better fuel mileage with worn tires. -
FrankMoosetek13 and jenziedk Thank this.
