I'm just not having the warm and fuzzy about the open flame in the sleeper.

No different that in an RV.

Also, I have this as my emergency heater. Should truck ever break down in winter...

You leaving it on? I have one of those along with an elrctric skillet but the flame mostly cooks outside. It works fine.

So you use it more like on the catwalk or something?

I will use it both locations but unless the weather is miserable I am cooking outside. The burner is all that gets hot, not any of the rest of the unit.

Unless you leave it out and start driving that thing is safe. I do remove the butane can when done. No sense in having a flammable gas leaking into the cab

Dave, if you have an inverter, I would recommend a George Forman grill and/or an electric skillet. I have the grill and a crockpot with a locking lid. You can do wonders with that setup. I try to pre-package the meats into single servings with whatever marinade in the bag. Then I can freeze them and stock up the fridge and freezer before I leave home. An extension cord to the catwalk and you're the envy of the parking lot. I love the looks I get from the guys walking by with their bags of fast food.

Oh, yes, you can cook your own corn dogs that way, too!
