I am wanting to get into auto hauling, I have a friend that will allow me to lease on his DOT.
I have 2 boys that are almost finished with high school so I was thinking about doing a 1 ton with a 3/4wedge and staying local or within a few hundred miles. When my boys are out of school I want to get a 10 car stinger and a larger truck of coarse.lol
I have had a few friends in this business so I know some but not all the ends and outs.
Thanks,
Matt
PS- I work 3-12 hour shifts and have 4 days off so I was going to do this part time till my boys are out of school.

So what do you need opinion on?????
-
Sounds like you have it figured out.

I would run far far away from auto hauling unless you want to lose a lot of $$$$.
-
Why do you say this, could you elaborate?

Personally I wouldn't advise anyone to but a truck of any kind while the economy is in a slump,..That said...
I also have friends in the business and had customers lined up before I started to get my own authority,..I had all the help I could have wanted to ask for...
I bought a older 10 car Boydstun setup because the price was right,..It is a good truck and everything worked fine.....I got into that truck a lot cheaper than a 1 ton with a good 3/4 wedge goes for.....
And things started out very well,....But that didn't last long.....lol...
Long story short I lost almost everything in this venture...
I cant type fast enough to keep up with my thought on this,...I'll try to come back latter and finish,......If you have any specific questions please fire away.... -
on the bright side Walleye has a car hauler I'm sure he'd sell you for a GREAT price!!
walleye Thanks this. -
