You see that’s not true I drove a Allison for a bit and while it never left me stranded I kept asking
myself “WHY?”. Then it hit me......It was a RV LMAO

    LOL We'll be able to "run faster and jump higher" . . . Oh! Wait a sec, that's a sneaker commercial . . .

According to Elon Musk we'll be able to accelerate faster and STAY RIGHT ON THE BUMPER of the four-wheeler directly ahead of you!! .Oh boy . . . can't wait!!

The passion coming from the manual guys is what I find odd. Don't like them? Don't drive them lol.

I have 18 speeds and one auto. They both work great and I like driving both. But according to some, I'm only a "real" driver when I'm in the seat using my 18 speed lol.

No, all of these posts, and there are a lot of them, start from newbies that think the are the tip of technology because they learned to drive an automatic.

This is shortly followed drivers that converted to automatics. They have been convinced the only way to get fuel milage is with an automatic. Holding on so hard to the falsehood that little trick of advertising has supplied them, it as if they were fighting for their manhood itself.

Us manual guys just point out the little advertisement trick they fell for, and the get all emotional about it. Facts are just hard sometimes.

Mark Twain is quoted saying, "it's easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled." While that phrase, as demonstrated here is true. To quote it to Mark Twain is BS.

I think I’ve developed Achilles tendinitis driving this stupid DT12. For real. I’m almost ready for a trip to the clinic.

Are you the same guy that said back in the 70's that class 8 trucks would never get better than 6 MPG in your lifetime?

Let's try and agree that technology has improved trucking considerably and that horses are no longer the best means of ground transportation, and that everything changes, shall we?

Horses??? You mean a 'self-guided" means of conveyance?? LOL Seems we're about to come full circle!!!

Was "inside yellow line" @ shop waiting for new tarp winder yesterday and was surprised at how many of our trucks are glider kits with pre-2K engines . . . Haven't seen an ELD yet and brand new 'autos' are sitting in the yard waiting for someone to drive them!!

Sounds like you have a fleet of qualified drivers. Maybe those new autos were parked there because of trans problems. At any rate, the drivers for those trucks are no doubt still in truck driving school.

Someday I would like to see the Safersys website list transmission type in their accident details. I would expect to see a high co-relation of accidents to automatic transmissions.
