It's already been quicker for me, based on my experience and not my opinion, but that's not the main reason I dedicated the time to learn the skill.

I disagree with your logic of just spotting a gear to your back box to save time. But for craps and giggles, let's go with it.
You pull into a drop lot with triples. They want you to drop your middle box plus rear con for the next guy.
So when you rehook your front to your rear, would it not be faster to back your already attached con to your rear box?
Or would you drop your con, then disconnect your lead... Then shuttle your con to your rear, then reconnect to your lead, then back your lead to the con you were originally hooked to, only to reconnect to your rear? -
You guys are making me so glad that I only have to mess with long boxes.
