Parking issue is pretty bad in some parts of the country. But what if you trip plan... well every one is and now places are full in the late afternoon. Maybe shut down at 1400? I feel that the public needs to feel the driver’s challenges to find safe parking. Social media can help? Maybe cause nothing else has so far.
x1Heavy, Oldironfan and bzinger Thank this. -
I'd like to know how wages will go up? When It takes more trucks, more drivers to move the same freight volume? Hmmmm? Maybe simple economics do not matter?

If some of the european owned outfits have their production cut by a third, that should help reduce some feeding of the cheap rates boards
Then factor in all the POS "pre-1999" trucks we're seeing now trying to avoid the mandate. How long do you think those guys are going to survive being bled dry by constant breakdowns? They're less reliable then Prostars!!! -

There's a big difference in an old truck and a POS. If a guy goes out and buys an old truck JUST because it is an old truck and does not check it out thoroughly to make sure it was well maintained, he'll likely be sitting on the side of the road before too long. However, just because a truck is old doesn't mean it is a POS...I've seen more old iron on the road in better condition than the "average age of our fleet is 1-3 years" crowd's trucks typically are than I have that are in worse condition. Sure, the paint might be a little faded, but it's mechanically sound because the person who owns a 20 year old truck isn't the kind of person who trades and upgrades every couple years and is looking to save a few pennies on maintenance by extending service intervals so that parts wear out just after they trade it off. The people who own those 20 year old trucks take care of them because they figure if they're still at it in 20 more years, they might still be driving that same old paid off truck.
