Wow. Swift drivers handling the WalMart cargo between Cheyenne and Salt Lake City, the most dangerous stretch of wintertime road in the country. We can officially put the notion that they value safety over money to bed.

Or the 100 miles down to Denver to 5 stores and then running back up empty.
It’s a wonder any outside company would bid on that DC.

I think Swift is desperate for income. If all the wreck stories are true, then they have a lot of lawsuits to settle.

Yeah. That’s stretch is pretty bad too.

High winds topple more than a dozen semi-trucks along I-25 in Colorado and Wyoming – The Denver Post

When I first started driving with CR England I had a head gasket that cracked. I was in Cheyenne for three weeks. When I got back to Salt Lake they said they weren’t going to pay breakdown pay. No reason given. No problem, said I, I’ll get it through the labor department and gave them the number I’d call. They paid the breakdown but then sent me deadhead with an empty trailer from Salt Lake to Cheyenne as an F U. Was sitting four days waiting for the light trailer warnings to end before I quit and went to Schneider.

So it’s no secret that working a holiday is a waste of time, but this one seems more so then usual. Sitting at Marietta waiting for them to find me a load. Yesterday they sent me to pick up a load that the shipper said had already been picked up 3 days ago. Dispatch said they where “swamped” and that must be true, because this place is full.

You had better recommend Crete/Shaffer/Hunt for BEST FLEETS TO DRIVE FOR, or else you will be dispatched to /corralled in the NorthEast until Springtime.

At the Ogden UT Flying J. What with the Outlaw Saloon and a motel and not even a fence between us I wonder if my dog is going to be getting much sleep.
