Hi I do not know how different it is in various states, but I have heard that if you register Truck under IRP you do not pay sales tax provided that TRUCK IS BRAND NEW. Is it correct? Does it matter who purchases individual or corporation?
CT DMV office IRP unit told me that they do not collect Sales Tax, but I do not have clear answer whether SALE TAX is due or totally exempt
Dealer does not know this at all.

Most states you don't pay the sales tax if you go under Irp new or used. But they will most likely hold your title until you set up the IRP. Georgia has mine and I am nervous to say the least. They have been known to loose a title or two.

SO What about FET?
I googled and it is little tricky to understand FET applies or not.
Truck is Ram 5500 with GVWR 19500, it is registered at IRP as 39500 (includes trailer 20 000)
Is FET that is already included in the price when dealer gives you rsvmp price?
Who is responsible to collect? Which trucks are exempt if any -
Never mind, I thought you meant big truck, don't think FET applies to under 26,000??? -
brian991219 and Cat sdp Thank this.
