Hi there! I posted months ago about my experience with Swift Academy, and my teammate and I have been working for Swift ever since. It hasn't been completely awful, but I'm very frustrated with the attitudes we receive from support staff, and communication seems to be a constant problem. The biggest problem is the condescending attitude we get from our drive manager. It's a pet peeve of mine that causes me a lot of stress. We'd like to change companies, but I'm a little lost on where to start looking, and I thought you guys might be able to help.
Info:
OTR Team (both female, if that matters)
Coming up on 6 months experience.
Based out of Houston
Have a dog with us
Want an automatic truck
Benefits are a plus, but the dollar is most important as the goal is to save up and buy our own used truck as quickly as possible
Dry van only for now
Thanks very much for any help!
5 months in, need a new company.

Quest Global is good and does long runs coast to coast. I think they have a guaranteed minimum weekly pay of $1200.00 for each driver. 3 mos. experience required, so you both are qualified.

Lynden Transport hires new cdl grads for teams and I think they hire in Houston & may have a terminal there. They have some long runs as far as Alaska.

For dry van:
Contract Freighters - www.cfidrive.com
Transport America
Abilene Motor Express
Titan Transfer
Danny Herman Trucking - no Northeast.
FFE (Frozen Food Express) - reefers out of Dallas.
Take a second look at reefers though; with Elogs they're "driver no-touch freight." Personally, I prefer reefers over dry van.Last edited: Dec 28, 2017

I'm not opposed to reefer, except I think it means we have to go out with trainers again? I barely made it through that once, I'm not terribly keen to do it again.
Thanks very much for the suggestions. I'll look into them.austinmike Thanks this. -
Teams are in high demand. You two should be able to do very well, even at 6 mos experience. Put your feelers out there and don't be too quick to pull the trigger.
