If you do decide to open an account consider Bank of America. Their fraud department seems to be on top of their game. The only problem is that they do not have a private email message platform only online chat, so phone calls are the way of communication. I am sure they do have email accounts, so If you get a hold to one let them know that your account is for ACH transfers going IN only not out. I would send them a letter and record the conversation. just to make sure. save the files outside your smartphone...email, usb storage and storage servers like amazon drive or google cloud...several backups.

I when I got my own authority in august Uber was the first company I did loads for. For almost 3 weeks straight I did loads for Uber. Then their rates got crappy. The bad thing about the Uber app is that you can't negotiate prices. What you see is what you get. If uber notices that nobody is taking the freight they will go up in price and if nobody takes it then they start calling carriers to play "lets make a deal". Uber had the nerve to send me a email asking why I haven't been booking loads for them in a while. Well Duh!!! Your rates are too low now. Uber tends to pay better for regional, intra state, and local freight. Their OTR rates are often crappy.

Did the rates on uber spike in the last two weeks like it did every where else? Or are they still one step from uship?

I went to some trouble to install their app and sign up. They have pestered me with emails, textx and even phone calls. Their rates are far too low. It isn't like I do not look, I do but they are hopeless. They are 2015 rates. A waste of time.
Now Convoy is a different story and I would recommend them. I did 2 loads for them. Trouble with them is that they don't have much freidht. If you can bounce in and out of Edwardsville, IL then it is ok but anywhere else it is VERY sparse.
Now I use virtually exclusively CH Robinson. I have a contact there and I couldn't be happier. He is like having a private dispatcher. Bends over backwards to take care of me. People criticize CHR but they take care of me and a friend of mine in Texas. Both of us don't see why we should fix something that isn't broken.
I still look but frankly I don't like the marketplace. Almost at the point of cancelling my load board.

I noticed that my load booking shifts gradually away from CHR towards others who earned my trust.
You could still find a lot of good rates from other reputable brokers on a loadboard. Sometimes even the big ones: Coyote, Swift, Schneider, JB Hunt, TQL, XPO, etc - they can all be really generous, if pressed enough.
Uber...yes they're funny cheap even in this magnificent 4th quarter.

You know I haven't seen any more load offers from them in my area. They got a foot in the door at a cold storage near me and the lady was all excited how they'd be covering all of those loads in the future. And so the only brokers I see who have them currently are the usual suspects but not uber. Uber must have been a failed experiment by the customer. I have a broker asking me to work exclusive on his loads out of there to TN, AL, GA and KY there but I just can't for the life of me get motivated to compete. I know how that one ends every time.

Why on earth would you give up your favorite part of the job? You love the hustle as much as you love driving lol. They think it's a burden for you but you've actually caught the trading bug... bad. Doesn't hurt that you're good at it lol. It's like with me and gambling. Everyone knows I'm a guy whose willing to make bets and yet nobody has ever asked my wife if I have a gambling problem. She'd probably tell them that it would be a problem if I started losing more than I won.

EOBR just kind of ruins it anymore. Now watch some dipstick come in here with some smart mouth nonsense about running illegal. Everyone is different and one size doesn't fit all. It's ####ed up.
