Spent $986 on a uhaul, around $400 in fuel to drive 1200 miles, put a $800 deposit down, $490 for the rest of December's rent and signed a $4800 6 month lease to stay in wright wyoming to work for Dupre.
it should have been a money making job.
At least should have easily made my money back in 6 months.

But literally 7 days later, this guy shook my hand and said "drivers like me are a valuable commodity and i can go anywhere with my skills" and told me I don't have a job anymore!!!!! THIS EVEN SOUNDED LIKE A LINE REHEARSED FROM THE CLASS THEY GIVE TO CORPORATE ON HOW TO LAY OFF EMPLOYEES!!!
He said loosing this contract caught dupre by surprise, but non-dupre drivers herd this was coming, BECAUSE THEY'VE BEEN TALKING ABUT IT UP HERE. And do you really think big companies get caught off guard like this without ever suspecting before hand??

DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY. they are telling me how sorry they are and how they are the real victims here, because they lost the contract. I'd be one thing if I made some money first, but the end of the first week of training!!! Everyone up here is certain they suspected this was coming, but just hoped it wouldn't and hired me anyway.

DUPRE IS LIKE A CAKE MADE OF SOMETHING UNSPEAKABLE, BUT COVERED IN TASTY LOOKING FROSTING.
DO NOT GET TEMPTED BY IT!!!!!!!!
I spent $1400ish to get up here, $1300 for a deposit and december prorated rent, and Now I'm stuck up here in a 6 month lease I signed a week ago, and I have no job. And they're just ignoring me, not their problem anymore, they were the real victim here, LOL.

Listen to my warning and read the other reviews before you give up time out of your life on this planet for these people.
You got one life to live, so you shouldn't let it be wasted by bad employers like Dupre.
CHOOSE WISELY OR SUFFER LIKE ME

They kept the truck working for 7 days so you filled their needs. Trucking companies don't give a fiddlers #### about people...its about money. Always has been. I know a driver who was kept in dark by dispatch that his wife was giving birth because they did not want the load delayed,,,they are all douchebags

Hopefully this is a costly lesson learned.Companies can let you go at any given time and don't need to give you a notice. That's too bad it happened around the holidays.Your boss should have compensated you for something but unfortunately that's not how companies operate.

    Ah well.

At least you were let go. Not fired. I must have had a thousand companies try to do the same. The secret is pick yourself back up, and get moving.

My guess ... whoever picked up the contract is looking for drivers. Go there ... get a job, be happy.

Too bad it wasn't like 3 months later he could have collected unemployment.

Welcome to crude oil driver!!! It happens from time to time. There are other crude haulers around. You will gain another gig.

But why move to WY? Why not live out of truck until it was proven that it would be a stable job?

Contracts can be pulled almost at anytime. I found out Phillips 66 was ending our contract with 2 days notice

I think at some point this has happened to all of us from time to time. It's never nice when it happens.
