    Dude, you are just p i s s i n g money away. Let the Tri-Pac do it's thing, and if it gets that cold install a block heater and when it is -10 run the truck. And get some fuel additive, I like PowerService, dump a 1/2 gallon in each tank when BRUTALLY cold.

    If you are making $2000 a week going around the corner, what the hell are you worried about? the tax right off? ;-)

    And if you are gelling, find a new place to fuel

    My fuel water separator has a heating element, I think, there's wires in it, but it's not a DAVCO. Cummins ISX in my Cascadia. It might be plummed to the tri pac. I still haven't figured out how to run the tri pac by itself, without turning on the ac, so it works as a block heater.
    The only time it turns on when the bunk heater is running, is when they batteries dip below a certain point I presume, and then it only runs for maybe 10 minutes,
    I'd love to be able to run it all night if it would.

    Is your a tripac evolution with the arctic switch? Mine has a temp sensor on the return line for the coolant. When it gets so cold the apu fires up and runs until the coolant is warm again.

    @Justrucking2

    Im heading to Albany NY on Sat afternoon. I picked up 3 jugs of Lucas Anti-gel Treatment. My truck has 175gals tanks (total). Im thinking of fueling up in PA (driving from VA), to get the cold weather fuel then dump a whole jug of this to the 175gals.

    Think that will work?

    Imma wrap my fuel filters in heavy fleace socks, and wrap them in sheet foil to keep them warm. <--- is this too crazy...lol

    Albany is warm compared where I am in Burlington, VT. I relayed a fedex trailer this morning to Albany. It was -10 degrees in Burlington, VT....20 degrees in Albany, NY

    I'm arriving there late evening, and have to do my 10hrs break. Looked at the weather tonite, says -3°...so, it's either a motel + plug it in, or idle all night

    here is your answer did mine this way with a switch.Heres how to put a switch on the SEN wire to make the tripac come on and run as long as you want. Open the main control box, probably under bunk or in your side box where mine is. Its the black box with the reset button on the outside. Find the wire marked SEN( think its white and has SEN marked on the board or wire). It senses the current voltage of the batteries and tells the apu when to turn on if your apu is set to battery monitor mode. Undo the screw that holds the wire in and extend the wire to somewhere in your bunk with a switch on it. The wire has to go back to the board where you unhooked it, just need the switch somewhere in between..When this connection is broken the apu will start and run until you flip the switch back. Apu may run for a bit after you flip the switch to complete circuit. Google `tripac diagnostic manual` (pdf file)and you can see the schematic of the control board. Id suggest unhooking the power to the apu before you open the control box so if you drop the screw you dont short anything out. I didnt do this but i was being super careful. Good luck

    add---my tripac apu is from 2006 or 7 so i dont know about this working on ones that do regens,etc

    Justrucking2 and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.
