Hey guys I posted a question a couple of hours ago regarding OTR and although there were some pretty good answers I wanted to hear directly from a current Swift driver and preferably a driver on the West Coast. My question is.. I am seeing multiple people who drive Swift getting loads mainly in that region they live (east coast and some central) so even though I get when you’re OTR you’re obligated to drive the 48 but do some of you only drive West Coast and Central and sometimes East?? And vise versa..

I bounce all over the place.
Sometimes I may get stuck in a certain part of the country for a couple weeks, but there will come a load that gets me somewhere else.

I live in MN, but my home times are split between Inver Grove Heights, MN and Denver, CO. My girls live in Denver.
That may make some difference in how I am planned from time to time, but generally I do most of the 48 during any given year.

Why does matter ... 200 miles or 2000 miles. Away from home, is away from home.

I don’t care for the East that’s why. I know I’ll be over there but don’t want to deal with everything that way

I drive for Swift and split my home time between Green Bay and Seattle. I only cross the Mississippi to go Green Bay. I won't drive east coast lol.

How often do you get to one place or the other? I've been thinking of trying to run like you do. Splitting home time between the wife in Pennsylvania and my mom in Arizona. I'd be ok with up to 2 weeks to get from one location to the other, but not more if at all possible.

Like I said, they are split. \

Every other home time is in MN, and the other is CO.
It is every 4-5 weeks, on average, between home times.

Trying to get a home time every 2 weeks as an OTR driver is not very practical.
Even less practical is getting them in such far off locations each time.

Plan on one home time per month, and you will see each location once every two months.
