First night parked at a truck stop in starting my career

Just this past week I was drying my flip flops after a shower at the Mebane Pilot and found a big yellow toenail embedded in the sole. My immediate thought was "I'm gonna need thicker flipflops"

 

Have a few cans of chili before you guys leave.

 

Stexan mentioned "Peaches" from Knoxville. She actually was a nice person. Scary looking, YES! And there's no way I would put Binky anywhere in there, but she was actually decent as a person. Made her quite popular.

Wait until you wake up as a truck is backing into the spot next to you. In your sleepy stupor your mind will play tricks and will make you think that your rolling forward. You will jump out of bed and push that brake pedal like your trying to Fred Flinstone it, lol. I dont know what it's called, but yea, I think a lot of drivers dream about the truck doing something crazy while they're sleeping in the truck. Eventually that will go away.

One time many years ago I pulled in to take a nap. I pulled up behind another truck and made the mistake of just laying over the wheel to catch a few winks.
I woke up and saw trailer lights just inches away. I dang near had a heart attack as I was trying to push the brake pedal through the floor board, LOL.

 

That guy has been selling bootlegs for years. He's there every day and he's no threat. Never saw a lizard up there however.

I don't know why but I CONSTANTLY dream that the truck is rolling away. I've gotten up and popped brakes, one time I got up, started the truck and moved it!!! I woke up and was like WTF this isn't where I parked!

I've only had one lot lizard. In 6 months. In the pouring down rain. Poor girl I felt bad for her.
