Paperwork Tennis - interesting side note, but Landstar scored 3 gold medals at the last Olympics for this new, albeit controversial sporting event.

If you have never hauled general freight do yourself a favor and hire on as a company driver, big difference in general freight a expedited. get through the learning curve on their nickel or you could go broke fast. Their will always be a used truck to buy and always somebody looking to sign you on.

Found a company out of Indiana called Venture Logistics which I see some threads on here about them. I really like the fact that they was a small company that does the sponsored cdl training but they are no longer hiring in the southeast. I'm not sure I'm going to move too much on the trucking industry because I simply do not want to sign my life away 4 a year with these big companies like Swift for instance.

(That's before books, comp keys, meal plan, and of course the all important must, have but never used, mac pro laptop)

Don’t you love college tuition today? Sky high out of control all because the government guaranteed the loans. Parents used to be able to save for college and nobody got a loan. Now most everyone gets a loan. All to learn stuff that’s on the internet for FREE. The only degrees people should pay money for are engineering, medical and legal. Everything else is a giant scam. Take someone who has just graduated and retest them on anything in 6 months. I bet they fail, but hey at least they’re a debt slave and on the hook for the next umpteen years. God bless America! Score another one for the big banks. Now go try to start a life owing $74,000 before you even got your first job when HALF the workers in this country make LESS than 30k per year.

It’s your world, I just live in it. Oh and Trump is NOT our problem. All that rant up above? He had nothing to do with any of it. Or Obamacare. Or our 21 TRILLION in debt. Or being in Afghanistan for 20 years. He’s never voted for a thing and he’s never held pubic office. Who know who is to blame? All those people attacking him. Funny isn’t it?

I realize this an old thread, but I have a question about Landstar for you. Do I have to own a truck before I apply to haul for Landstar? I am interested in buying a truck and leasing on with them (looking at Lone Mountain) but a buddy told me I have to buy the truck first before I can even apply to Landstar.

    Thanks for any help.
