What’s your minimum in town rate..

What is the distance for you to go from the house, to the pickup, drop off, and back to the house? What is the time that trip will take to complete? I am thinking that $300 - 350 if you are done in less then 4 hours.

 

If I go 70 miles 450-700
If I go 150-300 mi 900-
This is in the south and mostly haz loads

 

I like to get with a broker who I see have a hard time moving loads and give it some play. I make a lot of contacts that way and now I get what I want and I run local and regional I-10 no further west than Sealy TX and no further east than Gulfport MS. When I go to Miami with a load of haz I charge from lake Charles la to Miami fl 5200 and my guy hand me that money. And I have another contact in Florida that have straight thru regional loads to get me to Louisiana and I load going to Houston out of Dow Chemical. So with that I would say I make out great just gotta be patient and if your good broker have a bad load and he call you get it moved and work that out in the back end.

 

Mostly all of my brokers have been able to allow me to move premium freight and make a very handsome profit. I would say if my guy don’t have anything he will help me search for what I want. He’s been around and my girl she has a great relationship with her employer and helped us get some good freight from some of the vendors. You have to have connections to stay in the money.

 

To answer your question if your in a major city or deal with traffic factor all that in it’s not uncommon to move a Houston cross town going 25 miles for 500. You just got to ask how long it’s going to take you don’t want to pickup at 600a and unload at 700p

Must have a 1 hour loading time, 1 hour unloading time in tender, then $75 thereafter. General freight transfers.

 

In Midwest OH, IN, KY If we are bumping a dock our minimum is $500, even if it's going 2 "Lego blocks" away. This is our rate for the same day delivery. If it's +plus one day, our minimum goes up +$200. No exceptions! Upto ~ 100 Miles Going North or East and upto 150 Miles going South Or West

For PA, MD, NJ, NY If we are bumping a dock our minimum is $750 and same rules as Midwest.
UPTO ~ 60 Miles Radius North, East or South and Upto 200 Miles West.

 

It's not miles to a degree for local for me, it's time.
You wanna tie the truck up for 8 or 10 hours, even 6 hours.........I gotta make $500.
That's for 20 to 40 miles in town. Rent a truck and move it yourself otherwise.
This is at home.
I'll do short hauls one way to make that much for 100 or 200 miles if I'm going that way to pick up load, and have the time.
But when I'm at home relaxing, I gotta get $500 to go visit the truck.

 

I charge $75/hr to move trailers here in Phoenix. That is customers storage/rental trailers.
