Today I purchased a 2000 Freightliner FLD 120, powered by a C12 CAT 430HP, with 1.375 Million miles on the odometer. I paid cash, and drove it 220 miles home on the coldest day of the season (-8F), passing several broken down (likely gelled up) trucks sitting on the shoulder or getting hooked up.
I'm still a company driver until the paperwork goes through.
Tomorrow I'm going to have the mechanics at the company I'm signing on with go through the truck and let me know what needs to be corrected before we can move forward. Yes, they have mechanics working in the shop on Sunday.
Stay tuned.
Almost 6 years ago, I completed CDL school. Today, I purchased my first truck.

We all hope your new 1st truck will pass with no prob.
Oxbow, windsmith and swaggerjacker Thank this. -
Those old FLDs hold together better than anything Freightliner makes today. Good luck with it.
Bakerman, shogun, whoopNride and 3 others Thank this. -
I always thought the FLDs from that era were the best truck Freightliner ever built. Wish I still had my '99 with its 500hp Detroit 60. A half gallon of oil a day is all it asked for and would never quit.
goldwing-rider, Feedman, easytopleez33 and 5 others Thank this. -
windsmith Thanks this.
