Yeah sorry haha. This is my second week on my own. Last week went well aside from the fact one of the drivers I met in Erie hit my tail trailer with his when he pulled into the meet spot. Will have my 1st paycheck on milage this Thursday which is only for 4 days so it should be about $965 gross. Overall I'm really happy with my choice to work here. Everyone is really nice and helpful. I worked Sunday night and last night. My run was cancelled tonight because there was no driver to meet me in Erie but I have to call dispatch in the morning and hopefully I won't lose any money.

The weather is hurting everyone, it looks like. I haven't been dispatched for two days now due to bad weather. I started out on my own Saturday night, Indy to Grand Rapids to Ft Wayne, laid over in Ft Wayne, then Chicago and back to Indy. I put my padlocks on the set I was taking to Chicago before I went to the hotel, and when I got back to the terminal after my ten I found that someone had swiped them. Oops. Aside from not running the last two nights which I can't blame the co. for, I like it so far.

Well last week was my 3rd week here... not real sure I can say I'm impressed so far. I worked Sunday night (my schedule is sun-thurs) and went to bed when I got home like I was instructed too. I called my terminal Monday morning around 10am to see about work and was told due to extreme cold, the trucks weren't working and to call back about 1pm. Called back about 1:10 p.m. And the lady that does dispatch in my terminal had left so someone else was covering for her and they told me to call back around 1:30pm. I called back at 130 and they told me that they didn't have an email from the Columbus terminal yet and that she would call me when she heard back. I never received a call back and called around 4:30 p.m. To see what the deal was and she had told me that the night time dispatcher would be calling me in a few minutes. I never got a call so I was assuming I wasn't working and he called me about 830 p.m. To tell me that I needed to leave the terminal around 11 p.m.. I was quite frustrated since I had been held on the line practically all day waiting for work when they could have told me earlier in the day that I could go to bed and I would have a run later that night. So I was up all day and by the time I went to leave the terminal I already been up 12 hours so by the time I got back to the terminal the next morning almost afternoon I had been up 24 hours. I told the terminal manager that I wasn't real happy about the whole situation, he didn't seem to care while both the dispatchers were sympathetic about the situation. I went home that day went to bed woke up and call dispatch to see what I was doing and they told me that they didn't have any work so take the night off call back tomorrow. So I did just that called back the next night which would be Wednesday night and my dispatch said that he wasn't sure what I was doing but that he would definitely have me doing either Harrisburg or Erie but he would give me a call back and let me know. I get a call from Harrisburg terminal saying that they don't have any work and to take the night off. So now being extremely frustrated with the fact that I was dicked around Monday night now I'm being called off two nights in a row after I was told that there was work 5 days a week for me every night before I was hired and it doesn't seem to be panning out that way. I got a call Thursday afternoon around 2:30 p.m. Saying that I had a gate time of 4:30 p.m. Which was great then I go in that night and I'm told that I might be working Friday night since I had just had two days off to which I wasn't real happy with that either because I already had things planned for Friday and the other two days I had off we're practically wasted days and not scheduled days off for me. So I sucked it up it was fine I was told by the terminal manager that I was going to be able to get a 34 hour restart before Sunday but then I had to make sure I got one before I started Sunday night and that the run for Friday night had a 8 p.m. Gate time. So I got there at 730 and dispatch looked at me and asked why I was there and he said that I was way early, that the run doesn't leave till 9 or 9:30 p.m. I have over an hour drive to get to the terminal 1 Way so by this point I am just about ready to walk out and go home after everything that had happened this week. Once again dispatch was sorry that I was told wrong information and it seems the only thing that was accurate is the money I was told I would be making. With 5 days worth of work four of which being paid mileage for my Erie run and one day was hourly because I was still in training, I grossed a little over 1,200 dollars for the 5 days.

Draker, any update on how the Line Haul gig is going? As I've posted in a few other posts I have what will be my 2nd interview this Tuesday, and I'm trying to not get my hopes up too much regarding the pay and cost of benefits I've been reading about, and hearing about from other OD Line Haul guys.

Do you have any info regarding the ODFL training process? I'm bringing just under 12 months local experience, and was told in my initial phone interview that I'd need to complete their 4 week training process.

Would love any information you may have, that you're able to share.

Stay safe, and hopefully I'll be a fellow OD Line Haul driver as of Tuesday (at least while the processing / background is completed)

I have had them deliver to the house, the drivers were all great, good attitude. Personally, I have never heard a negative anything about them, the drivers or the company. Seem to be a good outfit. Just my .02

They as a company have been great to me , the 3 1/2 years I have been there. Wish I had switched a long time before.
