Not sure if that year of kw still has the coolant shutoff valves to the heaters but those hold in coolant/ oil if the heat isnt on. On bad cases we have had to flush the coolant system multiple times to get it perfectly clean. I would make sure the cooler was cleaned and installed properly before i started looking for multiple/ rare failures

It has a single heater core, and that was pre-flushed with hot water and degreaser.

The radiator doesn't necessarily need to be rodded out. Degreaser works pretty darn good for flushing the system.

I did it 2 months ago because trans fluid was accidentally added to the radiator.

Used to be Cascade dish detergent worked great to flush out the oil, but among other things the Golden State put an end to that. Penray oil purge has been my go to nowadays. I have flushed for whole day to get them clean and in summertime let them run with some flush solvent for the day.

I thought i flushed my c15 good when i changed the oil cooler but that wasnt the case. Had to reflush 3 times over a 3 wk span to get all the oil out. At first i thought i had other problems too. I would reflush real good.

You need a degreaser to really do the job good. Straight water won't do it.

    I had a little bit of incorrect info yesterday, it's not a C15 but a C13.
It's a 10speed, no trans cooler though. No coolant in the oil, just oil in the coolant. The oil cooler had a visible crack in it.

It was in the process of flushing with Dawn dish soap.

I use this to flush cooling system for any reason... works perfect.!
It' is designed for this application, not for washing dishes.

    BoxCarKidd and snowwy Thank this.

Won't leave a ton of foam like dishwashers either.
