A leak in the water pump itself?

A new pump will do it.

You could try patching but eh. That's not fixing the leak, just covering it up. You might regret such patching 100 miles from somewhere when it does fail again.

Tap into your reserve. Your supposed to have one. Or didn’t you do your homework before you became O\O ? Like mentioned already, do it yourself and save a lot. Goodluck

If it is an ISX, they make an O-ring water pump rebuild kit.

Oxbow and Steel Dragon Thank this.

You don't know how many big companies have been taken down by faulty water pumps.

No such thing as a mechanic in a can.
The weep hole is there to alert you to the problem before your crack the head or burn up the motor.

    Oxbow and 77fib77 Thank this.

Do you pay by the word? No one here can help you based of such little information. Some smaller engines, you can change the water pump in less than an hour, some take 4-5 hours. Some like the S60's are known for plastic rear cover leaks and can be fixed easily with a metal cover kit. If you're asking if your water pump can be fixed or needs to be replaced, I have no clue, I don't even know what engine you have.

Steel Dragon, Oxbow, SAR and 2 others Thank this.
