I was doing a company CDL training last summer when a family member was in an awful accident and I left immediately on the weekend without notifying them, and only 4 days until my CDL test.
I know this sounds stupid, but is there any chance they would ever recruit me again?
Can I go back to company CDL training if I quit?

Left once without notice. Why would the company believe you wouldn't do it again, except this time you abandon their load .

Go with a different company this time. Which state do you live in.

FFE (Frozen Food Express) has cdl school at Prairie State College in Chicago Heights. Some of their drivers post on here that it's a good company.
If asked about leaving the other company suddenly, just say you gave verbal notice of the family emergency. Now you're ready to roll again and prefer to attend school in Illinois. FFE may not ask though.
You're right, Illinois won't accept a cdl from some cdl schools such as Maverick in Arkansas.
FFE also has a terminal in Chicago:

Had you went to the company and explained your situation rather than quit without notice the company likely would have accomadated your emergency. Rightly you went home in an emergency, you were wrong in not being responsible by notifying those in charge of the school.
