Shortage of Drivers in Oilfield

Their is a shortage of company's willing to step up and pay a driver for all time spent. With so much free waiting time and ELD's many are finding out your time is better spent elsewhere.
I am seeing the carrier I am leased to building the free time into the load.
Load at 8 am and deliver at 6pm 150 miles down the road. Ya can't start the wait time till you been their two hours after your delivery time.

 

That is effing sneaky and rude. Thanks for the heads up on that.

 

If you have an appointment time you're not in the oilfield. You just deliver to the oilfield.

 

Times are a changing.
Many of the major players will not call out anymore .

I'm sure the hands up in North Dakota are earning there keeps in this weather!!! Now there is a shortage there because of extreme cold weather in the winter

 

$32 an hour + $45 a day per diem when I left. I would not go back for any less.
