Sure ain,t what it used to be.

Pick up and delivery/ foodservice is a whole diff side. Those guys earn their keep!

 

They don't make anymore then the guy holding the
steering wheel 10 hours a day.
They just work 5 times harder for it.
I've done them both.

Everyone of us in these class A trucks no matter
what type it is earn our keep.
Anyone of us could be burned alive in a wreck
at any time.

 

Beginning to come around to your point of view

 

I spoke to a lot of Walmart drivers when I was otr.Back then Walmart was very picky and most the drivers weren't young and had a perfect driving record.Every driver I spoke with really liked driving for Walmart.I didn't see too many women Walmart drivers either.It wasn't that Walmart descrimimated but they wanted the best of the best.

i was saying the very same darned thing. no one thought i was in my right mind.

well...........it's coming. the demise of the walmart driver's job.

 

I know it and a lot and getting worse.It wasn't nearly as bad back in 2002.That's when truck drivers had a backbone and a lot of privacy.Now its micro managed from carriers to ATA to FMCSA.

 

I can sense it already.

Call me a idealistic dumbkoft but in long ago Truckers used to be considered Kings of the Road able to help others when in need. It's not always the help that might be welcome but it's something to run on.

I think we may be losing that. Or have lost it. I don't know yet. Some days I don't have a good morale about the whole thing.

 

Heck..most won't even get over...they'll fly by you at posted speed inches from your vehicle..pathetic..
