Got a 3 month card recently. High BP the reason. Plus questionable way they took it. The same day I went to my own doctor and she put me on the meds. Read up on foods to lower BP and starting eating like a rabbit and everything that lowers BP. The goal is to get to the 140/90 by April 11. Now if by some chance I don't hit those numbers I'm done. One time 3 month card is expired. With that said, can I start over again. Get a new appointment. Like I'm getting a card for the first time? My BP now rides around 145/90 which would qualify for a 1 year. I've been a year carder for the last few. Plus the recert is due too. Whole other pain in the ###.

While eating healthy and getting exercise is something you need to do anyway....
Just get the Dr. to write a bp med script. Very common and they help. You'll still get a one year card, so no biggie there.

Didn't they lower the bp to 130?

Which will put me in the same position as the op now since i smoke.

    That it?

I recall long ago when anything over 90 on the bottom number was a problem. I had trouble when I was smoking at 21 and kicking that thing over 125/92...

Hell, ive carried 230 plus over 150 for a week at a time, day and night round the clock. I should be dead from a thousand strokes but a hospital stay took care of that.

Watch for hidden salt in canned foods, tomato sauce in spaghetti has a lot of salt unless you make your own. Fresh is always better if possible. Stay away from a lot of sugary foods and drinks also. Love TV dinners now and then, but one meal can take a whole days ration of salt. The BP meds will help a lot and you should feel a lot better. Lose a few pounds if possible too, that will help bring it down also.
