Best company for paid training in the Weatherford Texas area?

Save up the money to go to a reputable driving school. Companies offer free training since they know they can own you until you pay them back. It's an amazing culture how so many people want shortcuts and get shortcut results. Once I worked hard and sacrificed, that is when I made a lot of money. I contact the guys I started trucking with that took shortcuts and they are still broke and trying to find another get rich quick scheme with no money out of their pocket.

 

Don't be concerned about horror stories; it's not a lifetime commitment with your training company; usually just 12 months, then you can move on.
Plenty of choices in your area. Private school, already mentioned, is the best, but if that's not an option for some reason, there's other choices.
Roehl Transport may still have their school in Grand Prairie. Decent company and they actually pay you $500.00 weekly while in their cdl school, then when you graduate you are bumped up to driver pay. I think they hold back the student pay for 3 weeks, then give it to you.They provide meals and lodging while in school. They have several schools in other states they will ship you to if necessary. Hair follicle drug test.
Most trucking company cdl schools have meals & lodging provided.

 

FFE (Frozen Food Express) in Lancaster,TX has their own cdl school and a real good reputation.

Nothing wrong with company paid training. They all have nightmare reviews but are all really the same in the end.

As opposed to paying for community college for a semester for class room and school yard training, you are instead being paid to train by doing the real thing at the company for six months to a year.

 

What's up brother. I feel your pain. I'm in school right now at Houston Community College. That said.... that said I ain't had the best school exp.... started a class that was right in between holidays, spent a couple weeks in "class" doing jack #### but watching videos.... we've been driving for two weeks now but between two weeks off for xmas and couple days for New Years... plus the freeze I've been relatively disappointed in schooling offered. Now I've been pulling 40' goosenecks in the refineries for years my saving grace but the other couple in my class are having hell from lack of drive time and not being familiar with double clutching and backing a trailer. Little back ground on me. Last two years I've been living in a 400 sqft hand built cabin in deep east Texas making absolutely 0 income so you need to thank about it this way. If your having a hard time with little money, Then change your situation..... if you find a company sponserd program that actually pays you.... who cares the "horror stories" your making money and the review is probably from a pos who will fail reguardless..... if not... then after a year or two there "habits" will cost them anyhow... so never take internet advice.... he'll if I took internet advice I'd of been dead 6 years ago from all my ailments lol!!! Any how... school is school and reguardless of where you go to achieve your CDL-A your still going to have to go to one of those "bad review starter companies" for finishing traning.... no good company is gonna hire you right out of school.... simple as that. Your mind set to this..... the next year of your life reguardless of where you go or what you do is gonna be either in school or living in a truck with an instructor.... you'll have school then 5/6 weeks with an instructor OTR.... any company that is worth a #### is gonna require 6/8/12 mo exp solo OTR... hell Walmart is 32mo OTR.... so weather it's contracted through a company paid program or outing yourself through school..... plan on a year of #### to get where you wanna be but remember you'll be better off in that year then where you are now. Oooooo and most company schools.... you'll get a CDL-A with an automatic restriction..... meaning you'll never be able to drive anything but auto leaving out ALOT of better paying and more family friendly companies after that first year.... you would have to do it all over for a non-restricted licince if you needed it. REGUARDLESS of the oath you choose... it'll be great because you did it and it'll be yours.... and remember FAIL means First Attempt In Learing....
