I guess the OP will have an asthma attack too if he s getting fuel, or in rush hour traffic, or the road shut down because of an accident too.

Or going into a mill, quarry etc.

I tell you something about me... When DM Bowman sent me to Bittenger to the Limestone Quarry between Gettysburg and York off Route 30 to load Limestone I ended up the hospital the first day due to the dust. They fitted me with a very good mask so that I can continue that particular dedicated loading for Tamko shingles in Frederick off English Muffin way near 355/270.

I finally had to call it quits after 4 weeks when I ended up again in the hospital. Decades later the MRI scan of the bronc-ital passages, central lungs and trachea confirms the presence of lime and damage in that area. I will carry that until the day I die. But... the exchange of air is very good for what it is as long I remain below 4000 feet. The last time I crossed Eisenhower on I70 at 11 some thousand feet I had trouble maintaining blood oxygen saturation and was losing a large part of my body believe it or not. That tractor was a automatic and under cruise control until Vail. Once past there, towards Denver the lights got better and I regained the body.

It's one of my limitations. I don't stress about it. The Lime powder situation was not the first encounter in trucking. I was backing into a Hagerstown silo to get loaded inside and someone as a joke allowed a few hundred pounds of cement to pour over me personally. And I took in a large amount by breathing it in. So while they are laughing up there long ago yukking it up, they ensured that the situation will remove me from trucking roughly halfway into my life time. Among other problems. I hope they enjoyed it. I made sure never to load there again.

Don't listen to the "you might wanna rethink trucking" ########!! Everyone has their own different ways and techniques with everything in life. You do you and don't exactly as your doing and eventually you will be doing exactly what makes you happy. That's the only thing that's important. Not what a bunch if us ######### think about how you operate your rig!
