Youngblood- Usually I Sympathize With the Newer Drivers and /or the young..In Your case here,I See more than advertised.

the 60 in a 55.......99.9% of the time the ONLY time you'll get a ticket is a checkered past driving record. That's Right,

He ran your License,And probably seen Previous habits of yours. That's How 5 overs get written- Don't play the Sympathy role cause your not getting it.

    The 65 in a 40- Unacceptable- But You'll Learn,Your Young.

Did the Same thing in my 20's...Heading East on 80 Near East Stroudsburg, Put it in Georgia overdrive going down the 380 hill- 81 in a 55. I got Reemed by the Cop,My Boss and my Parents!!!

Again, Nobody Gets written for 60 in a 55 unless the Cop sees your a Heavy Foot.

I think he was probably going faster and the cop gave him a break by writing him for 55 in a 60.

As an officer I wont even stop a vehicle much less a CMV until they are 15 over. But I always try to reduce the speed that is charged. Repeat violations, excessive speed, and radar detectors can result in higher speeds written.

even when i am a big hurry i try to not go more than 8 over the limit and have gone by many at 8 over and they didn't even blink an eye. try to always keep it at the speed limit though. no tickets in years. although i did one time get stopped by a city cop for 3mph over the limit. not only stopped for a honest 3 over the limit got ticketed for it. 0 points and a $3 ticket. really don't know why she bothered. maybe she had other reasons why she wanted to check me out an just used the 3 over as a reason to stop me.

to the op i would say once the case is closed trying to re-open the case probably is not going to gain you anything. probably should have gotten a better lawyer. certainly try to fight the new one though. sounds like you didn't learn from the last. although the other recent ticket certainly is not going to help your case.

Probably WAY off topic, but an old timer once told me where you can find sympathy. He said, "It's right between $#!+ and syphallis in the dictionary!"
