The misadventures of a rookie tanker yanker

Rolled up 502 miles of the ole money belt yesterday. Made it to the Beckley service plaza and took my 10.

Made it 322 miles to my unload a little over a half hour ago. Waiting on the CofA before I air off the White Oil.

The Greer terminal sent me a tank wash to write and drop at their location. Not sure what they have for me but, but I am hoping for an 800 mile jaunt up to Webster NY.

Since Wednesday I've done 1,244 loaded miles and 55 empty. I'll do another 37 empty going to Greer. Depending on what they have for me, and my remaining clock, I hope to get a couple of hundred more loaded miles in today.

At this moment I've got 6:53 on the 14 and 5:05 of drive time. They need to get a move on with CofA or I might just chill in Greer.

That wouldn't be a bad thing. Always a place to park, a shower, and I can bobtail to a restaurant. Might even be able to leave out around 0300 in the morning to get away from being a solar powered trucker. Lol

 

FYI, white oil unloads quickly. Half out in 30 minutes. No unload delay pay for me.


Called Greer and got my next gig. Lay up there tonight, drag an empty in the morning and switch it up for a loaded headed to Webster NY with a Monday morning offload.

 

Since I don't start until 0900 tomorrow, all that time can't go to waste. Off duty drove to the Blue Beacon and am sitting in line to get my big ugly washed. Will eat a Baconater at the Wendy's after topping off the tank at the Pilot. Will use the shower and get myself right before heading over to sleep at the terminal.

Yes, for those who didn't do the math, I am going to collect 3 hours of dispatch delay pay before I get under the empty in the morning. 1600 to 0900 is 17 hours. Company gets 14 and I get 3. Trip is 848 loaded miles.

 

Hadn't done that one yet, but your brief is about what I was briefed. Was told they'd yard dog the loaded trailer out at Easley since there doing some construction or something. I'm open to either or.

 

Exactly what Lagging said. In the past 25 days I've spoken to the Wilmington dispatch three times. Called to let them know when I would be ready to go out again after returning from a 15 day run.. Called to see what loads they had, and in person the day I left on this trip.

BTW, I like our dispatch and the folks at my terminal. It just so happens that I'm a system driver and that's how it works.

If your regional, you'll deal with them a lot more. I think it's Nick at the Karns City one. The gal who answers the phone seems to be in a good mood, even though she's been sick with bronchitis for a month. That terminal is my second least favorite I've been to so far, just because of the location and roads. I dislike our Charlotte terminal the most.
