A little worse than than even. If the milk (or any other ag guys, or supply to farms) never leave the 150 radius, they can work 24/7 during planting and harvesting season.
Unfortunately this is not going away anytime soon. This is not FMCSA getting a wild hair up their backside. This was specifically required by law from congress (as the title says, legislation titles "MAP-21"). To go away, it will take another law...

I get letting a farmer move his stuff in his truck. Everything else IMO should be just like anyone else. -
It was passed in 2012. had to go through a couple rounds of court battles, then an actual date set, etc...
So removing a provision will likely be a 5 year process....

For the record, HOS exempt ag. trucks have considerably better crash statistics than OTR HOS compliant trucks
