Ran an easy 338 loaded today. Chilling at the Beckley plaza for my 10. Will run about 460 tomorrow and hold up at a Flying J 40 miles from my unload on Monday.

Mortarmaggot how long did the whole process take from interview process to training to finally being out on your own, does it matter whether you are a newbie or have experience (I have 6yrs pulling a box) just getting a little tired of the same old thing.

New guys like me get an extended training period. I was in training for 3 months, but I came right out of school.

You'd probably do a week with a local guy and a week with a system guy to learn tanks. 19D just came over from Schneider, and it was quick for him. He also had tank experience.

Which area do you run out of?

Ran 476 miles up to the J off exit 48 in Pembroke, NY. Got in early enough to take an extended break. 15 hours before I need to roll out again.

My 70 hour clock will be down around 15 by the time I hit Karns City tomorrow afternoon. It's a 250 ish mile run empty to them after I unload. I don't start picking up hours until Wed, so I'll probably sit in Karns tomorrow and load out Tuesday. Odds are high against a preloaded tank, especially with my clock.

The first 5 out feels like it flew by on this trip. Hope the next 5 go as smoothly.

Big Ugly's, that's my truck, check engine light did cone back on today. Probably a sensor. Big Ugly is running fine, but I'll have the mechanic in Karns hook it up to the computer.

I mainly run local within a 350 mile radius of Pittsburgh, occasionally I'll get a trip to New York or the Maryland area depending on how slow it is in the Pittsburgh area.

Ran 281 empty after unloading. Ran a little over 90 loaded today. Didn't want to sit at the terminal for my 10, so I ran over to the 99 on 79.

Next run is Browns Summit, NC. It is due tomorrow at 0700. Told Nick I can't do the load on time. He said he already told them on the other end. It's a drop and hook anyway, so not that big of a deal.

Heading out of here around 0230. Snow is forecasted along the way, so I'll take it easy and drive to conditions.

Will likely be chilling in High Point tomorrow afternoon. If Scotty doesn't have anything for me, he can tank wash me home. They have some out and back work to get me thru until my home time on Friday.

    Lonesome Thanks this.

At Brown Summit just make sure you get there by 14:30 or so and you will be good. Swing Rd shuts down for deliveries a lot earlier.

Thanks. I'll be there by 1330. 470 miles thru snow and rain, hopefully no ice, and leaving out at 0230 ish. Will top off my fuel before leaving here.

Woke up to a US Express broke down and blocking me in. Spoke with the driver and he can't move the truck. His company is sending breakdown assistance.

I'm not even a little stressed or annoyed. This is just a part of trucking. I didn't start my clock or anything, so it's all good. Load was already late. It might just be 24 late with this situation and the snow.

Reports I'm getting are that the roads are drivable. Once I get out there, I'll take it easy. I don't worry too much in the Northland, they can deal with this stuff. If there is any indication of ice, I will pull off.

Be sure to touch base with High Point dispatch. You might get lucky and they have you drop it on the yard for a local driver to deliver tomorrow if they are backed up and need you on another load.
