No heater under the bunk? Seperate from parksmart? As far as I'm aware ALL of our trucks have an espar or webasto heater.

Don't know where you get the idea it's on them to pay your way home when you quit, lmao.

Always the smart thing to do is to have a credit card on you for emergencies like Rental cars and/or airplane tickets.. And always clean the Truck out with the exception of a bag or 2 then give them the notice

Ive used a wabco heater on the back of the sleeper that burned fuel and sent the heat via corner bunk fan to warm the area as long you had fuel to burn and battery to feed it. It's not a ideal situation.

Another is a metal can with toilet paper (Tube removed and squished into can) rubbing alcohol poured into paper, lit and will burn a while. Provided the paper itself does not burn you are fine until the alcohol burns off. Never try to refill it because it will flash burn you bad.

Another is a very large glass container with a big candle inside of it. That sits on the floor of the cab burning it's not for hazmat and so on.

Ive made posts about nesting inside a sleeper truck that has died in winter and it's possible to survive a while nesting in a pile of sleeping bags, blankets etc. insulated from both the metal flooring and box below and the colder air above as everything cools to outside temp. Civil War stories talked about soldiers pairing up under a wool blanket into -10 and severe frost, snow etc. And did well. But it's not something that is too common in our culture outside of military necessity.

I don't know if you refer to the other original thread. But I am posting here to remind you that when a company asks someone that is valued enough to question "What can we do to help you stay with us" this is a question that can be solved by issuing you a tractor in good condition and that idles for you in the winter day or night without shutting off.

In return you need to be a good boy, be nice and diplomatic. Explain you have been wrestling with this for 5 weeks now apparently and last night's cold not restful lost night was the last straw for you. You are willing to continue to work for them as you have before apparently well enough to make a impression on them to ask you to stay. They in exchange gets you a truck that is good and will keep you warm or cool as you need to sleep.

That's pretty good, I suggest you take it if at all possible. Most drivers are shown the door without being asked what they could do to help fix this?

unhook then idle. downward exhaust causes heat to get trapped under the kinpin, right near the left rear frame rail where most shops place the ambient temp sensor. before rehook, pour a little deisel on the 5th wheel jaws. cold really stiffens grease. be ABSOLUTELY sure you are hooked and the jaws are firmly locked around the pin before takeoff.

be a good idea to crank the legs down enough on unhook to hear good air releaseing from the bags, not all truck stop lots can be adequately cleared of snow and ice for the tractor to get good traction.

policy unless it changed is below 10 degrees idle.

I assume it was made clear thr key MUST be in the off position in order for the bunk heater to operate.

believe its protocal for shops to check function at each pm, at a minimum heading into cold weather months.....

I have been told by several Schneider staff that the parksmart is my heater. Its only meant to preserve the bunk temperature. But it will only spit out warm air for 30 minutes after I shutdown.
