I put my most recent adventures in a different thread. It started out as a thread about a moderately bad week that I documented for new drivers.

That week ended up getting much worse, until I capped it off by face-planting on a cat scale platform due to some rare South Texas ice. I don't remember doing it, but I managed to slow my fall with my left arm, but still smashed my left eyebrow, opening a 2 inch gash and busting my glasses.

At this point, the gash is healed, and the bruising is mostly gone. The only lasting concern is a tiny numb spot on my left upper lip, which I did not have before. But if that's all the permanent damage I get from what happened to me, I'll take it and be happy.

I can’t have been the only gambling degenerate who worked there. When I’d get a WalMart load with only a drop date (25th) on it near a good casino, I’d stop at 5PM on the 24th, play poker ‘till 3AM and get absolutely ####canned then deliver at 3PM the next day. Load planners never said a word.

    What happened?
Crete didn’t make the list again.
I know they want that little sticker to put on the back of their trailers

One thing that really irritates me about Crete is the lack of an APU in the truck that can keep the sleeper at a reasonable temperature in the summertime when I am in a truck stop taking a shower, or getting a sit-down meal.

I don't take prescription medicines, but I would like to keep some non prescription supplements in the truck. I've had two bottles of different types of supplements melt together in their bottles so far this year.

Hopefully, Crete will do away with opti-idle and return to APUs soon.

    tucker and 48Packard Thank this.

Opti-Idle would be a deal breaker for me. Had it in one truck years ago and I swore never again.

The problem is they try to get the drivers to fill out a survey for them to get on the list. Many driver would do that, but the link they provide on the ESS site does not work. Goes to a page saying: "There was a problem getting the information for the survey or it is no longer available. Please make sure you're using the complete case sensitive URL, as provided in the original email. For further assistance, please email support@carriersedge.com."
It has said that every time, no matter when I clicked on it...not sure if I would even have filled out a survey, although I have been with Crete/Shaffer for more than 15 years...they are not the best, but they are nowhere near the worst.

Farmerbob1, tucker and 48Packard Thank this.

I think I passed you this morning on I-64 in Indiana.
If I did then you have a driving light out.

Funny, I didn't see @tow614's favorite company on the list...I guess Big G and the Magnum cult didn't make the cut...of course, neither did my current trucking home...:(
