Each truck in the company has to register for an LVC permit. This goes for each state the truck is expected to travel through. It's $200 for doubles/Rocky Mountain Doubles and $250 for triples just for Montana . Our P&D trucks are required to have Idaho and Washington State permits cause our primary service centre is in Spokane. Sucks for my company cause they are shelling out $2k extra just to have our P&D trucks pass through those two states twice a year .

Well took a ride down memory lane. Had to tow a YRC trailers back to my old yard. The driver was a 3 million mile accident Free guy. Good guy and helped me a lot back in the day. I drove our tractor and towed the set. The other guy who I work with drove the wrecker.

Got a call from the boss man on my way home today offering me a schedule route with a 7 am gate time. Heck yeah, I'll take it. So i'm a big dog now...at least until I get bumped off of it on the next bid.

cool, what happened? how did you get it?
the other guy quit?
they expand?
what?
details man!Cardfan89 Thanks this. -
It's a new schedule they added. We've seen a huge increase in volume lately. Our lot looks like a giant jigsaw puzzle with loaded trailers jammed anywhere the jockeys can find open space. Makes it hard to move around, but definitely a good problem to have.
I'm most excited about the hours. Right now even though I get two days off, a lot of it is nighttime garbage hours, leaving me just one full day to get all my stuff done at home. -
How many years you have there? -
3 years in February. I'm slowly moving up, but with about 200 linehaul drivers it's a long way to the top.

LoneCowboy and Naptown Thank this. -
Is it just me, or are the customers that are the most unpleasant, rude, demanding and really don't give us a whole lot of business in the scheme of things...always the ones who threaten to go to another carrier?
Oh, no! Please don't throw us in that briar patch...!LoneCowboy, Cardfan89, MACK E-6 and 1 other person Thank this.
