Ok, I see your point.
I do not have a Q-Com, EZPass, or Toll Pass. I run Houston to LAX or Houston to NYC or Boston. I can get in and out of NYC with under $150 and have never had to wait more then 5 minutes to clear a booth. A bit different on the MASS Pike, but I am ok with that. I run a new truck, I keep it clean. When the wheels are turning my log book is spotless. Loose leaf logs keep it that way. But the one thing I never want to have is that EZPASS. Why. DOT can access exactly what time/place you got that green light. I can't have them having that info. Same with your TollPass. I tell DOT I send in my paperwork from the dock. If they ever actually search my truck, they may find out otherwise. But they never have. I keep the BOL with my permit book and log book. Quick and easy access if requested. That is all they get from me. So far, when questioned, they look at my stuff, roll their eyes, and I am out the door. Generally, with the officer shaking his head.
The bottom line is to limit the info available to LEO. The last thing I want to do is to hang myself with my own rope. EZPASS, Q-Com, Toll Pass is that rope.
Can you "saltie" guys explain this fee

hyper if you run your logs as you do it you could have all the nice comforts of the electronic age. however i like you dont like giving leo more rope than i have to and if i can keep the rope short enough so he cant hang me all the better.

How about this....Run legal and drive instead of messing around in truck stops or staying home extra time and you dont have to worry about LEO. If you cant make money driving legal find another job!

bang,
The trick is to run like it is mine, I take care of it, it takes care of me. About staying home? I have children and a great wife. I deserve all the home time I can get. Walk a mile in my shoes before telling me how to run. Want to know how many "out of service" violations I have had in 20+ years? ZERO. How about accidents. ZERO. I run a wide open truck, How about tickets? A few. Nothing on my record now. I have a corvette. Again, no tickets. -

DOT can have all the info with my ezpass they want, Roehl trucks are governed at 62 mph and you just can't get caught speeding on interstates (most of the time) in a slow ##### truck anyway. This thread is getting a little off subject with the bragging of "look what I can do!" -
Threads never remain completely on topic all the way through. That is the nature of open public forums.
