Not really, the biggest issue is condensation when you go into a warmer building with cold glass. It tends to make it slick and can slip out of the web sling.

Not a good day for me. On the way to Van Buren AR this a.m., the truck tried to shut down from low oil pressure...checked the oil, it was off the top of the stick and thin(it was changed within 5000 miles, and has been normal since then). Breakdown and Mack think it sounds like one of the o-rings got cut or was defective on one of the new injectors that was just installed last month, so...high ho, high ho... it's off to Mack I go.
At least I missed all the wonderfull white stuff that has been taking out so many super truckers lately. -
When I called the Mack "Guard dog" real time diagnostic hotline, they said that since my ecm wasn't showing an active fault for oil pressure, that I could proceed on my next run...but, when I told them that my oil level was 3 or 4 inches above full on the stick, that means what is in my engine isn't oil, it's dieseloil, which means my bearings aren't being lubricated, he said that I could go to the dealer now and have them check...when the tech pulled the stick and smelled it, he said that I could have very easily toasted a bearing had I not brought it in when I did. To show the difference between shops, K/C took over a day to get me in to start work, the Ft. Smith shop, just as busy, got me in within a couple hours, and the top of my engine was opened up before I headed for a hotel. And, would likely be ready sometime today unless there is a surprise. They said that there have been quality control issues from the injector manufacturer, the o-rings on them sometimes come in rock hard and inflexible, and if a tech tries to install them anyway, they split or crack and then you get the problem my engine has.
Update...wasn't injectors. Now they're gonna change the oil (if they can get the filters off, the T/A that did the oil change waaaaay over tightened them and he couldn't get them off with a chain wrench)and pull the fuel pump to see if it's leaking at the drive. Now it's a diagnosis challenge, one of the reasons I quit owning/working on my own truck.Last edited: Feb 7, 2018
mushroom1464, 48Packard, Lonesome and 1 other person Thank this. -
I had similar injector issues on a Cascadia I had last year and the Navistar LT I just got out of. Probably use the same injectors.

Have sent them an email, unfortunately they have no loads going to my area, they would not get me home -

Well....Mack is baffled. Pulled the injectors, nothing damaged or defective, and no signs of any blowby of fuel. Pulled fuel pump and pressurized it, and no leaks. They witnessed that the oil level was high, smelled like diesel, and was thin, and that the ecm showed a low oil pressure code. They changed the oil, marked the dipstick and drove it 120 mi with no change in oil level...since it took 5000 miles to get that high, they say drive it for a week and to keep an eye on the oil level and let them know if it changes any so they know how to bill this out. If it doesn't go up, then one of the o-rings might have been a micro-millimeter off. But anyway, back on the road... (I'm having International Maxxfarce flashbacks)
Bumper and 4mer trucker Thank this. -

runningman0661 and Lonesome Thank this. -
Off I go deadheading 715 miles to Church Hill, then maybe a load home. I am scheduled for hometime next week, and if they get me home early, I won't complain. Have had 2 24hr pass thru visits home since Santa made his delivery (by choice), I think I am entitled to a longer visit this time.
