With all your troubles makes me wonder if I want to be an o/o. You just can’t catch a break. Has to be some better times coming since you almost replaced everything on that truck.

Half of these problems is from shops not fixing stuff the right way. I'll never buy a heartland truck again lol

After they replaced my starter my voltage isn't dropping like it was. Holds steady now.
Anyone know how much wire I would need to run all new wires from the battery to the alt? Would 100 ft each do it?

That would be more than enough.

That's metal galling, not a cross-thread..... If they didn't put a generous coat of anti-seize on the threads of the bolts when reinstalled, then at some point take them out and do it yourself. Definitely don't want to go through that again!

Don't go cheap on the wire either, it can be a little pricey. Amazon has some decent deals. They make a marine grade that is tinned to prevent corrosion that might be an option too.

There is a serious lack of translation between the "service writer" and the mechanic. They don't want to listen to you because you are just another '"truck driver"....

    Good luck :)

Just means your impact gun is weak. That's only a half inch bolt, even if it's rusted up inside the block a decent 1/2 drive impact should have enough force to break it. But be grateful your impact is weak, now you can heat the bolt and get it out instead of needing to drill out a broken one. Impact guns have their place and make some jobs much faster, but a bolt going into cast iron isn't that place. If you are the kind of guy that always gets out the impacts, just make sure it isn't strong enough to break the bolt unless you want it to break.
