I estimate 80 percent of the driver turnover is due to the shops incompetence and downtime.
The other 20 used to be shipping, but they got they're
    act together because of E-LOGS.

I don't think there's any, and I mean any general freight
hauling company anywhere that could survive with
polys shop. They would put them out of business.
I never seen nothing like it in my 18 years out here.

I spent my first 2 years here rebuilding loaners on a weekly Basis. I've never been towed or spent a night
In a motel since I been here.

That doesn't mean I'm good or lucky.
I just refused to stop driving that junk until it completely
Died and wouldn't move another inch.
Just get'em back to the shop, that's my mado.

Spent a year and a half with no heat or ac.
No clutch,no problem. From PA back to the yard.
Truck overheating and shutting off every 30 miles,
No problem, drove that one back from salt lake to
    Grand Prairie. Lol.

I'm out here to make money not sit in some shop
    Or motel.
Seriously though, I only survived that loaner madness and the shop because I live in Texas. I was at home while the
    Trucks were in the shop.
I don't how anyone who lives outside of Grand Prairie
    copes with it.

Finally the last international I had the climate cab quit.
They had no more parts to fix it and they wouldn't give
    Me another international.
Only truck Martin had for me was a brand new peterbuilt.
Best thing that ever happened to me with this job.

That was 60 thousand miles ago.
I've spent 2 days total in shop since then for my 2 pm's
That I've had done. Haven't touched a loaner since.
They can't get rid of those internationals fast enough as
    far as I'm concerned.

What we could do .... is all drivers get together, holding hands and surround the shop and chant “we want justice. We want justice” that will get their attention !

Zaros and Western flyer Thank this.

The equipment and shop was the reason I left as well. Actually liked the job itself, but you can only handle so many breakdowns till it’s time to move on. My first trip, I sat in a motel in Laredo for 5 days for a breakdown. In the 9 months I was there, I was towed 6 times. They were still having shipping issues as well, but the breakdowns were just too much.

Bavarian Motor Transport did it that way too. BUT THE SHOP PAID OUR LAYOVER AFTER THE 1st 24 hrs so you were out in 23 hours 55 min.s or less even if they had to hook your ac up with garden hose to say it was fixed.
