a lot of people don't factor in the benefits package the companies offer as well.. that can add up for a dollar per mile the way healthcare is

I look at it as I don’t have to run as hard to make the same. My last job I had to bust my ### to gross over a thousand, now, it’s rare that I don’t, and I’m hauling reefers for a mega. For where I am in life and what I need, this is fine.

Unlucky you. Your money would go twice as far
In the south. And no blizzards to boot. Lol

    Dam near anywhere Alabama,Louisiana,Texas,
    Mississippi.
There all a whole lot cheaper than Chicago,
And your pay is still the same.

I moved from New Jersey to Texas about 10
    Years ago.
I took a 10 grand a year pay cut and it felt like I
Got a 15 grand a year raise because the cost of living
    Is so much cheaper.

Got a double wide ,couple acres, 3 car garage.
    25,000. Lol.
Renting out a couple rv's I bought and put on my property.
I'm living like a king and I'm just a Certified steering
    wheel holder.

I live in Jefferson, tx. Population about 7000.
A OTR truck driver is in the top 5 percent of income
    Where I live.
Me/you make literally 2 to 3 times more than most everybody in town, except for the business owners.
    No state taxes in Texas.

So I am just about to complete te first week at my new old job and even though the company came up with even more BS (paperwork) I like it much better. Was given Las Vegas run so easy 3600 miles in 6-6.5 days (I left a bit early). Will make exactly same money ($2100) as my last week running East (3000 miles) but it was like a breeze of fresh air.You simply can't compare driving I 80/I15 West to driving I95 in PA and MD or God forbid CT!
