Don't blame you. If I didn't have this job and I were willing to go back OTR, you're exactly the kind of boss I'd want to work for--"just do your job and it's all good." What is it about responsibility that seems to make this generation flee like vampires from garlic?

Before the load I am on now I just did a jet engine,.. from Bangor, Me to the 180th fighter squadron in Swanton, Oh. (Sarcasm,.. just in case someone doesnt get it) But yeah.. I just love taking stiff uncooperative tarps in frigid weather, trying to make sure nothing happens to a $5.2 million freight on my trailer.

At least the guys where I delivered,.. (In the rain) all got around and helped fold up my tarp and they even set it on my upper deck for me. Outstanding service men!!

Still rather do this than bumping docks and waiting for green lights. F all that none sense.

Every time I see a flatbedder in the truck stop
Covered in dirt and sweat, I wonder what the inside
    Of their trucks look like.
How macho they must feel after a day of tarping and
Sweating like a pig in 90 degree heat and not have
Enough time to make it to a truck stop and take a shower
    For the night.
God only knows what the inside of their trucks smell like.
But there tough though. Smell like crap but there tough.

I really don't mind it when I'm sitting back reading my pay stub and it sows that I got paid $250 to throw 2 small steel tarps on a 40k load of steel. And yes I was covered in mud and soaked to my socks from the pouring rain. 20180214_145616.jpg 20180214_151809.jpg

Who cares as long as he is between lines?! Oh and continous is better than start/stop because you can at least get used to the noise.

Well, the way I see it is, the difference between truck drivers and seat warmers...any seat warmer can pull a box. And, I am willing to bet most flatbed DRIVERS have never had to deal with those leaches known as lumpers in order to get their trailer empty. As far as working hard....a lot of the van/reefer drivers I use to work around would whine and complain if they had to get in the box and sweep/blow it out before the customer would load it. As far as the stink...when you pull an open deck, you shower before you go to bed...and I have smelled plenty of door slammers that don't have time to shower because it interferes with their roller dog and nacho chip eating time.
