Explosion at UPS Freight facility in Rock Island, IL

Horrible start to a dock workers day.

 

Imagine if that wasn't one of their trailers but a carrier's dropped trailer. Try explaining that when someone shows up to pick it up.

 

Here I thought some one turned off the ventillation fan to the bathroom.
Well I suppose a leaking propane cylinder on a forklift is bad enough. Yet why didnt hte operator notice the tank was leaking? It would mean that whomever installed the tank never checked it for leaks. To build up in a trailer like that the operator should have been overcome from the amount of LPG that is leaking. Almost to the point it was lethal. Got to be more to this story.

Sounds like they stored the forklifts in the trailer for easier starting . . .

 

It would be my luck that I would show up and that would be the trailer they'd want me to pull. I'd ask for flatbed pay though.

do drivers get paid more for hauling flammable things? Cuz it's not fair that they have to risk their lives but be paid the same XD
