There's a reason flim flam trucking does 1099,
And it's not to your benefit.
But you don't want to hear any of it anyway.
Your convinced that your that 1500 a week
On 1099 with no benefits,no health insurance, and
Having to pay all your taxes yourself, is somehow
A lot more money that making 1500 with all those
    Things included on w-2.

You think you're somehow outsmarting the IRS.
    You ain't.

That's not entirely true. It all depends on the employer. Hiring a driver at 1099 is just a way for fleet owners to get a tax write-off. If the employer held taxes out, they have no benefit to their business. The gentleman working for these folks has some massive paychecks. He'd have to hold somewhere between $150-$200 per week for taxes. 1099 can work, as long as as there's money discipline.

One can make it on 1099. He's taking his taxes out himself instead of the employer. He's most likely going to obligated to the same amount per year, regardless of method

He will have to pay 15% Social Security tax for being self employed vs. 7.5% as a w2 employee. So he will actually pay double the social security tax. He will pay the same fit and sit, either way. But hey, if he wants to work for 7.5% less, then that is his business.

Plus he is not getting workers comp coverage, nor unemployment insurance on a 1099 basis.

In addition, one will probably have to provide Worker's Compensation on themselves, which will probably be as much as the tax burden.

This is all true. The reality of the situation is that if he is working a 1099 job, he got screwed up somehow with the megas. Either a positive drug test, a really bad accident, or he's jumped around the bottom feeders a lot
I've had to do a 1099 job for some years to keep my experience up because I've tested positive in 2011. It's been almost years since that happened and now options are starting to open back up. For some companies, like Wiley Sanders, it wasn't even the drug test that messed me up. It's past misdemeanors that have stopped me from getting hired. They'll take DUIs and felonies but drug misdemeanors are still being held over my head.....it's weird how things operate. There is no reason to work 1099 unless you're a owner operator or you've screwed up somehow.

You got a $600 per week raise:rolleyes: I take my hat off to you. 6 days per week, that amounts to a raise of $100 per day. The employer really must think a lots of youo_O

13 pages of negatives replies about the 1099 and he's still trying to convince himself it's a good idea. Time to stop beating the dead horse.
