You hit the nail on the head once again. Thanks for all your advice and I feel exactly what you are saying with this post. Just ordered all my work gear but definitely will look into the rain gear and shoe dryer. Much appreciated.

I actually worked for a Beelman for a few weeks and was training out of St. Gene so I'm not 100% on my answers but it seemed like the guys come back every night unless they run out of hours on the road and most of the trips were doable for the 14 hours you get. Newbies of course can be pushed to do things that make you stay out a night or two. Yes every other weekend you have to work either Saturday or Sunday I believe but no on calls I was aware of. I trained with them back in September.

St Gen is majority pneumatic tanks. Not as many dumps as the majority of tanks haul out of Mississippi Lime about 10 minutes from the yard. I think the perk of being in St Gen is they preload some of the loads that will make you tight on time through the night so you come in to your truck and just haul. The nights out really depend on what kind of tank you pull. There’s a lot of old hands that do the shorter local stuff, and if you get a big tank that hauls hydrated lime it is usually a little bit longer hauls. I pulled a hydrate tank for several months and I pretty well ran the road by my choice. I’m an owner op out of St Libory now pulling a dump. For a tank guy, St Gen would definitely be the terminal to be out of.

You can, but not when it’s only been 4 years and it involves drugs
