Out of all the shops I've ever been to, I have never had the owner throw me the keys to his pickup. His guys were fast, prices were reasonable, and the downtime was only 1.5 hours! If any of you owner ops out there live near there and need a good, trustworthy shop to be your go to place that you can trust to do you and your rig right, I will swear by Old Mel.blairandgretchen and OLDSKOOLERnWV Thank this. -
TripleSix and OLDSKOOLERnWV Thank this.

You can get the 'reman dif' for $1250. Would it be more than another $1000 to have it installed?
Just wondering how much of that $2500 the local guy is charging for rebuilding the diff and installing it, and how much it would cost if you brought the unit to a shop to have it installed. -
I know what I did...I cooked the diff. Hot day, lots of hill climbing and the truck was pulling like a champ. Wont make that mistake again. -

Don't know what the difference would be in labor between the 2 methods. So labor might be 6's either way.Moosetek13 Thanks this. -
A rear diff may run you 1250 if you’re lucky. When I replaced my front with a Welker reman it was 2500, and just replaced it again last week (warranty) along with the rear with cost 1600.
