    ...About 50 miles.

All the bridges around these parts were closed due to the storm, so by 7:00 I was told to find a hotel. Swung off the interstate and dropped the trailer at a truck stop, and went to 4 hotels. All of them were packed, and time was getting short, and I wasn’t far from home. Went back after a 10 the next day to get the trailer.

It was an emergency that was just thrown in my lap at the last minute.

Had a scalemaster get pissy with me yesterday. Red light on the transponder, so I pull in. I get the green arrow to bypass, but there's a sign directing hazmat loads to go into the scale lane so I follow directions. I approach the scale, stop as indicated, and an annoyed voice comes over the speaker. "Follow the green arrows, driver!"

Only thing I can think of was that the haz was on the back trailer and he didn't see the placards.

    That would be my guess.

Anyone want to take a bet that if you did as he said the first time they’d come chase you?

    I ##### hate residentials.
Had a classic example of the nasty, no good, two faced resident. Can't understand that all deliveries include the pallet and associated dunnage.

him "I paid for the in the garage delivery, not for a pallet"
me " Sir, all deliveries include the pallet"
Him, "not mine, I don't need it, I didn't pay for it, ITS NOT STAYING"
me, "Ok, but its 20 bucks to take it back"
Him, "NO, Hav your dispatcher call me TOMORROW. Well take care of that then. Just put the chair in the garage as you were told."
me...Fine, Please sign AND print here, have a nice day.

Called dispatch after all was said and done. To let them know he was going to likely call in, and they already knew this guys name. He'd been a pest for the past two days while we tried to SET UP the delivery int eh first place.
We sent the pallet to another customer of ours who LOVES free pallets.

    Let me guess.

Mercedes, BMW, or some other high end car parked in the driveway, and with Obama and/or Hillary bumper stickers on it.

    That about right?

Two nights ago we had real bad ice in Ohio. I had some interesting moments that I thought might end up really bad, but I made it through. Among the multiple jackknifes and cars and trucks in the ditches, I saw something pretty impressive - an ABF set was turned completely around in Springfield on 70. He did a 180 without hitting anything, and ended up perfectly straight, just facing the wrong direction.

I've never seen anything like it, and doubt I ever will again. What I'm curious about is whether that counts as a wreck. I say cut him some slack after pulling off that feat.

In my experience, rich people's beliefs have little to do with whether they're entitled a-holes.
